Technically, it was the intersection...

I didn't want to make a scene.
(I am at this moment realizing) I often make a scene at gas stations.
Not often--three times.  Technically, tonight could be excluded.  It didn't take place at the gas station, it was at the intersection--because I didn't want to "make a scene at the gas station."

Back story:
Four minutes before, a minivan was parked.  The gas tank was open.  It was 27 degrees and dropping for the night.  While I was putting in my six gallons (gas will be cheaper in two days, right?), I saw their tank open.

Benefit of the doubt moment:
They were going in to prepay and were backing into the gas tank dispensing area.  I recognized that was highly unlikely, but a good stall thought (that's humor for what their car was going to do in the morning when the tunnel to their tank filled with snow and ice and caused their minivan to--stall.)   Actually, they did back away from the curb and then continued to do so, like some 'minivans in reverse' (for charity) around snow heaped gas receptacles.

But, they put it in D and drove to the road.  I was done with my six gallons.  I jumped in my own minivan and raced after them, met them at the light, threw it in park.  I was cautious as I approached the unsuspecting minivan from behind (do I think I'm a cop).   My flashers were on and my drivers door open as I hastily walking, after 8:00p.m., toward a minivan first in line at an intersection stop light).   Danger Will Robinson!
The light turned green and "D" is what they did.
I had my right hand up and continued to "walk" after them apparently performing some monologue from the empty square of route 30 and Church rd.  My personal horse power lacks--although when I was a kid, I did run 12 mph once as I hung onto a kid's car window who'd I asked to "clock me."

I was suddenly aware oncoming traffic to the right and left of me sat otherwise parked as I stood under the green light in the middle of the road near my car with the flashers on and the drivers door open.
Other drivers were wondering.
And at that moment, so was I.
I should have made a scene at the gas station.
